The day President Kennedy died I was in my classroom at Saint Nicholas Ukrainian School in Passaic, New Jersey.
I remember Sister Dennis telling us that the president had been shot.We were sent home early and schools were closed for a few days afterwards.
The next few days as we watched the funeral on tv and saw Oswald killed right before our eyes on live tv, nothing made sense in the country I grew up in and loved.
As a young girl I loved President Kennedy and all that he stood for. His wife Jackie was a role model for me and I made a huge scrapbook of every photo and article I could find on her.
This was a day of change and sorrow for me.
As it as at that time, our neighborhood was dirty and quite a scary place at times and now, with the death of our president, things seemed even drearier.
That same year in March my Daddy passed away. He was my knight in shining armor and my whole world just crumbled as much as it could for a twelve year old girl.
My daddy was the one who would tell me its ok and hold me and just let me know everything was all right.
He was the one who lovingly showed me everything I know about loving others and respecting them.
He taught me sports and told me I could do anything a boy could do. He showed me how to do archery and sketch and swim .
He loved science and would talk for hours about the planets,stars and such.
I could go on about my Dad but I just know that 1962 was a horrible year for me.
Nothing made sense and God was far too far to be reached,or so He seemed far.
That was the year I decided to walk far from God, to be uncertain about my future and to be as bad as I could be.
It was also the year I began to fear everyone around me was going to die or have something bad happen to them.
The world around me was like glass sculptures, waiting to break at a moments notice and I was afraid I was going to be the cause of it all.
In these days you did not go to a support group. You had no kind pastor to turn to.
My Mom was in constant mourning and my brother a mess in mourning himself,
I believe that I decided then to do whatever I pleased, to disobey all the rules I had been taught and to become the opposite of what my parents had hoped I would be.
What a year that was. Where were the disciples of Christ, the ones who could show me Jesus?
Thirty years later when I met Jesus, I decided I would pray so my children and grandchildren would find Jesus early in life and never feel the way I did at twelve.

PEOPLE ARE NOT PROJECTS BUT FRIENDS
wE ARE NOT DIRECTORS OF AN ORPHANAGE NOR DO WE GO OVERSEES FOR MISSION TRIPS.
OUR LIVES ARE QUITE SIMPLE IN THAT WE WORK,WORSHIP PRAY AND PLAY TOGETHER.
GOD SENDS US OTHERS TO LOVE AND WORSHIP WITH AND PRAY WITH.
NOW WE HAVE FOUR PEOPLE SENT TO US TO DISCIPLE,LOVE ENCOURAGE AND WELCOME INTO OUR HOMES AND LIVES.
THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT PROJECTS. THEY ARE NOT PART OF A WORLD KNOWN CHARITY OR GROUP.
ACTUALLY THEY ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUFFERING AND HURT AND LOST, WHO NEED TO BE LOVED AND COMFORTED.
GOD IS SO GOOD TO GIVE US OTHERS TO LOVE. THESE BROTHERS AND SISTERS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR HEARTS AND WE HOPE TO BE THEIR FRIENDS TILL ETERNITY.
RIGHT NOW GOD HAS GIVEN US FOUR.
MAYBE HE WILL SEND US MORE BUT FOR NOW THIS IS THE PERFECT NUMBER OF FRIENDS TO BECOME OUR "FAMILY" IN JESUS.
IT IS NOT EASY BECAUSE THE NEEDS ARE GREAT BUT OUR GOD IS GREATER.
SOME DAYS ARE HARD BECAUSE THEIR ROAD IS FILLED WITH SO MUCH PAIN AND IS A HARD THING TO SEE THEM THROUGH THESE TIMES.
I AM PRIVILEGED TO KNOW THEM AND THEY BLESS US.
I BELIEVE IF WE CARE FOR THE ONES GOD HAS GIVEN US THEY IN TURN WILL GO AND LOVE OTHERS
THIS IS A GREAT THING FOR IT CAN IMPACT THE WORLD IN A SMALL YET SIGNIFICANT WAY
LOVE THE ONES GOD GAVE YOU TO LOVE
HE MAY SEND MORE HE MAY NOT
BUT BE FAITHFUL IN THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU
IT IS NOT ALWAYS NECESSARY TO SUPPORT MANY PROJECTS OR MISSIONS
START WITH THE ONES CLOSE TO YOU
FOR US IT IS OUR DAUHTER,EACH OTHER AND THESE FOUR OTHERS HE HAS PLACED IN OUR CARE
IF WE ARE FAITHFUL IN THIS WE KNOW HE SMILES
HOW CAN WE CHANGE OUR TOWN IF WE CANNOT BE AN EXAMPLE OF THE LOVE OF CHRIST IN OUR HOMES AND OUR CARE FOR THE ONES HE HAS PLACED WITH US
HOW CAN WE IMPACT THE WORLD IF WE DO NOT START WITH OURSELVES AND THOSE HE HAS GIVEN US TO LOVE?

CHRISTIAN RIGHT AND LEFT AND ALL IN BETWEEN
So many people are not happy with themselves or their walk with God so they blame the church.
People want to make up their own version of who God is and how He operates, and, they want to live life how they want, so they choose not to attend a church but instead complain about how unfair, judgmental and crucifying so many Christians are. And in many cases they are very right about this.
However are we just saying all these things about the Christian right,left and so in in judgement, not removing the "boulder" from our eyes before removing the splinter from the eyes of others? Are we saying this to justify ourselves, prove we are right and further our "cause" instead of furthering the word of Christ?
Over the years since 1996(my born again experience) and even before that in my Catholic youth, I experienced hypocrisy, hatred, every form of racism and finger pointing you can imagine.
And you know what? That is all okay to me now because I understand something vital and lovely about the body of Christ.
Whether you are Catholic, protestant evangelical or whatever the believers in Christ label themselves, we have all fallen short of perfection ,and, instead form self righteous statements as soon as we accuse one another of ANYTHING we think is unfair or not right in the body of Christ.
When we see injustice and wrong in the church are we condemning it with bitterness and hatred or are we bringing it to God and allowing Him to speak to us about this?
When we state something like, "The so and so group are so self righteous and do not help others" we have already helped out the enemy to another feather in his cap. We spout out our feelings and opinions of other Christians before a believing and unbelieving world and the results are often disunity in the body and more fuel for the enemy's fire.
Yes there are some horrible things going on in the church, many believers are not acing the way they should and yet in the name of Christ they all claim they are just fine and even self righteously good before God.
The whole entire church is a divided body and that keeps the enemy happy my friend.
In Revelation the appeal to the church in Ephesus is to repent and not forsake their first love. However He(God) says that they have this in their favor: they hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which He also hates.
What, "hates? God used the word hate? Yes, it is against practices not people. And He does have some rules that we must follow as His children.
Now to the church in Smyrna, He gives the promise of a reward , a crown of life, though there are many who are slandering them and even causing them suffering, even to death.
The church in Pergamum God has great words for BUT He states there are some in that church who hold to teaching of idols and sexual immorality, and, again He mentions the Nicolaitans.
He asks for repentance,NO, He commands it!!!!
In Sardis God even says something more revealing. He tells the people in this church they say they are alive but they are dead!!!!
However God says He will come like a thief in the night and you will not know when He comes.
He tells them that some are in that church walking with Him and I think that is an important statement.
He promises He will not blot out their names from the Book of Life.
In all these churches there is much bad going on. There are believers who are rebellious, ignorant and living against God's principles.
Like today's churches there are hypocrites, back stabbers,self righteousness and so on.
BUT THERE ARE MANY WHO ARE WALKING WITH GOD!
AND HE PROMISES HE WILL NOT BLOT OUT THEIR NAMES FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE.
HE SAYS HE SEARCHES HEARTS AND MINDS AND WILL REPAY EACH OF YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR DEEDS.(Rev.2:23)
Friends, when we say something about the church today we are talking about the church yesterday too. God knows everything that is going on and He will sort out the wheat from the tares.
I attend a wonderful church, loving and spirit filled, blessed but we are far from perfect.
My daughters church too is spirit filled,loving welcoming yet they too are far from perfect.
And there are others too. I have visited them and been in them recently and I see how, like the churches in Revelation, they are all having good points and weak ones.
I bet there are many in even the churches that are not "so good" that are walking with God and staying true to Him and His commandments in love and truth.
I bet if we start praying for the church and stop bad mouthing it we will see the move of the Holy Spirit on our brothers and sisters in Christ and many repent and turn from evil.
He who is not against us is for us.
If you want to bad mouth something do it to the church of Satan.
I am sure you will find imperfect people in that church too.

CHURCH FAMILY
A family raises its young
A family feeds its young, clothes them, guides them
A family provides education, housing and a safe and secure environment
A family increases its number and adapts and makes room accordingly
A LOVING family does even more
They love unconditionally and provide encouragement and room for growth
They forgive and keep no record of the wrongs but just pray we leaned from our past mistakes
And if not they do not stop loving us
A loving family has differences of taste and opinion but somehow these are a perfect blend of what they believe and represent
They will give you their home when you need a place to be
Even if it inconveniences them!!!!!
A loving family never stops being the circle that will hold you in their hearts no matter where they are
What has happened to our church family?
These thoughts are not of my present church or any church specifically but instead of the body of Christ
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me" Matthew25:35

SITTING STILL WITH JESUS
It is good just to BE
To wait on God for more and more of His love
To sit with God and spend more time in His arms
To just BE
I sit upon a soft cushiony place
nuzzled in the arms of my Savior
who listens to my every word(though sometimes I wish He would only hear the good stuff)
but no it is actually good, on second thought, that He hears it all
All I know is for right now
I just want to be in His presence
No great works for me
none other thing appeals to me more
than sitting here with Him
when He has a job for me
I will surely know for He tells me things
and sometimes it is as simple
as a meal for a friend or a tea for my husband
but in obedience to this
to His beckoning
I find grace and mercy
and much delight
He leads me to the rock higher than I
simple
burden free
and lovingly
this is true peace
To wait on God for more and more of His love
To sit with God and spend more time in His arms
To just BE

The path that I take as a woman of God is sometimes so defined and even has this smooth railing should I fail to lose footing or grow tired.
Sometimes I get a bit miffed because the path has this way of just stopping and its way is blocked by some trees fallen or rocks displaced.
Most days I just ignore the obstacles and walk over them, though difficult, but, at times, it is almost impossible to get over or around these stops in the path.
These are what I call the MIRACLE STEPS.'
They are steps that I take without wanting to really because the task ahead seems impossible and the path impassable.
But if I just look ahead at the One who is leading me I can walk through a forest untouched and without one loss of footage.
Surprisingly I never get back to the path with the comfortable railing that I once knew as a sure and stable way .Instead I come to an "opening" and there I find what is an even better route to take.
It is this grand opening in the road which leads to a place of beauty and refuge.
Each time the road becomes difficult and long, the end of it is ALWAYS a glorious place of beauty, refuge and rest.
Hallelujah to our King Jesus!

KITTY WOES
I thought I could do a little experiment and ask God to stop my cat from suffering so.
She has been "in heat" for a long time and the vet cannot do the necessary surgery until an ear infection has been cleared up in her body.
Finally the day came when we got the green light for surgery but alas she was allergic to the local anesthetic and we had to reschedule surgery.
It has been a very long haul for our kitty but I believe more for us.
She has kept us awake for weeks with her crying and howling. Male cats from who knows where have come to the door wooing her with dead mice and howls of what is probably untold passion in cat language.
Enough is enough I thought this morning.
This has to stop
I know she will be "fixed" in a few days but we all are walking around sleepless and seeing little hope of having a night without choruses of cat serenades.
So I have taken a spray bottle in hand and have gone into serious prayer as well.
How can such a little cat make our quiet little home so chaotic?
Maybe I will consider a sedative,not for me either.

JESUS TURNED WATER INTO WINE AND HE SHARED WINE WITH HIS DISCIPLES WHILE INSTITUTING THE COMMUNION RITUAL.
EVEN PAUL SAID TO HAVE A BIT OF RED WINE FOR THE TUMMY TROUBLES!!!
ALL IN ALL WINE MAKING,TASTING AND SHARING IS A GREAT WAY TO SPEND A DAY TOGETHER WITH FAMILY

AN UNDIVIDED HEART
If do somethingvery meaningful then it must be just listening to God!!!!
What is more extraordinary than praising He who created e?
What gives the soul more delight than basking in His streams of water refreshed in His spirit?
How could I ever want anything else?
Yet my heart of meaningless treasures pursues the lesser cause; it is His portion of my "saved- by-p grace" heart that I seek to glorify Him with.
A heart divided..................
"may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight........................... Psalm19:14

Rainy days come with cozy moments and squeeze your emotions ,but all in a days work.
we had this wonderful start of a new day with Noel fasting and reading some scripture.
I had set out to hang new curtains, read and do some needlepoint.
The usual tasks of laundry and cleaning seem monotonous to mention so lets just say they happened without fuss.(not much effort either)
Went to SBUX with Mel and got a mocha,warm.
The day was further enhanced by Noel forgetting his wallet but thinking he lost it so this began a series of backtracking to various places.
Losing something valuable is one thing;backtracking is another.
When I retrace my steps it is as if I a trying to not only find a lost object but relive every step I took during the time I lost the object.
I hate reliving the past in any way shape or form.
I would rather not find the object altogether
unless it was an actual alive person or animal of course
the wallet was dropped on the ground in front of our house
upon returning home we found it safely laing there all the time we were gone untouched
praise God
all that backtracking for naught

WORD FOR LIFE: WHEN I LOOK AT MY DEAF CAT ARWIN SHE REMINDS ME OF...: WHEN I LOOK AT MY DEAF CAT ARWIN SHE REMINDS ME OF HOW I WALK LATELY WITH GOD......... She is totally deaf, and, as a result has very odd ...
WHEN I LOOK AT MY DEAF CAT ARWIN SHE REMINDS ME OF HOW I WALK LATELY WITH GOD.........
She is totally deaf, and, as a result has very odd movements, jerks head quickly back and forth and does a bit of a crooked walk when she first awakes.
Perhaps I do not have on my spiritual ears and walk a bit "funny" too!
And like Arwin perhaps I have some trouble waking up to the truth that God makes all my paths straight so I just need to trust in Him.
After all He is the one who put Arwin in our home and she is so loved and accepted no matter what.
It is the same and more with God who has given all for me just so I can walk straight before Him.
She is totally deaf, and, as a result has very odd movements, jerks head quickly back and forth and does a bit of a crooked walk when she first awakes.

WORD FOR LIFE: So things do not always seem right in order for m...: So things do not always seem right in order for me. For example, I love my little church,it is wonderful. But of late I have been not at...
So things do not always seem right in order for me.
For example, I love my little church,it is wonderful.
But of late I have been not attending because of my husband's work.
And it is not so much that as I have a yen to attend my daughter's church.
Just this "idea" in me that I should go there.
When I do it all fits together.
So now what do I do next?
I feel like an adulterous woman not returning even to visit my home church.
Yet I know that I am not doing this to be mean or unkind but I just am so blessed I many ways and even a blessing to others.
Now what?
For example, I love my little church,it is wonderful.

This is a day when I read a lot of different things, you know like testimonies, self help reads and some scripture.
What I like to do is write some things down so I remember them or can use them in the future too.
Today I posted some on facebook and made a spelling error.

Some days are just full of many surprising and shocking events.
I am sure that many of them throw us off our feet ,cry, mourn, be anxious and have second thoughts, even doubts about our faith and our God!
Yet when I look at the words above I wonder how can I ever be afraid or doubt?
God is so ready for anything and has the arms of comfort available always.
He draws us out of the deep flood waters of the time and puts us un a high place with Him.
Sometimes we do not see the little boat coming to save us.
Some days we cannot feel the arms of love around us and maybe even take them for granted
But believe what His word says
He always has a net waiting to catch us, a standard waiting to come against the darkest of powers................

"Pour water upon every thirsty place of my life and floods upon every dry place in my life"
Isaiah44:3
This world denies its children living water.
It claims a substitute instead leaving us thirstier and longing for real quenching of our spirits and hearts
Imagine if your baby cried and cried for a drink!!!!
How much would you want to fill that cup and satisfy that little ones thirst!!
But we, as those who have no clue where to get water, instead give our little ones cups that are empty, or, perhaps, half full.
We try to bless them with this and that drink and even sell them the idea that it satisfies the thirst.
But we neglect to provide our children with the water that never leaves you thirsty, from the eternal spring of living waters.
I would never want to deny my children or grandchildren anything, especially something as basic as providing for their well being.
How much also do I want them to taste that living water so they will never thirst again.
for eternity
God so, as our heavenly Father, wants to fill our cups forever with His source of eternal love and life, His living water.

"Lord, help me to forget the former things and not dwell on the past. Do a new thing in my life. Make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19
When contractors start clearing out forests and making roads and paths to go through, it must be a huge job.
I cannot imagine the work it entails to clear trees, brush, rocks and even disrupt the animal lives who dwell there.
Sometimes when I think about how God has cleared my "wilderness" it truly amazes me.
And He still is doing some more work on the tangles and webs in my life and my mind.
I am so glad he is the head honcho, the chief trail blazer and the nurturer who holds me and restores new ways for me to walk on thee roads.
The same is true for the desert places where days are so dry you can not dislodge the tongue from the mouth's roof.
Mostly these days are when I have not come to Him and just let my heart and mind "dry up" .
Days when I dwell on dull, useless things and not the waterfalls of blessing He provides.
He is the ONLY one who can water these dry times.................

I was thinking of how when you had your tonsils out as a kid they give you popsicles or ice cream afterwards to cool and ease pain, and, the sweet flavors and tastes make you forget all the misery you just went through.
The thing is with our former lives, like mine, when I taste and see that God is so good now it is kinda hard to believe at times.
It is like I can taste the delicious ice cream, accept the fact that I am getting better and healed(just like after my tonsillectomy) and that soon I will be so well I will just about forget all the pain and anxiety of this surgery.
Yet some days I remember the pain of the tonsils and fever and even the fear of going in the hospital for the big day of surgery.
Just as I so remember some days what brutal indsets I once had and the hurtful things I have done against God and others.
God create in me a new heart and mind so I will remember no more the horrors that sin has done to me. Let me instead focus on the savory goodness of your new Life you have placed in me.
Just like strawberry ice cream remind me I have good things to enjoy in your love now and forever and eternity to come

CLEARING A PATH FOR YOUR LIFE(iSAIAH 43:16)
MAKING A PATH
"Lord, make a way in the sea and a path in the mighty waters" Isaiah 43:16
Making a path often includes clearing debris, perhaps removing decaying stuff, even sometimes cutting down trees which block the way of the good path, the smoothing of the forest ground.
Sometimes paths on high mountains are cleared with much deliberate surveying and securing a firm footing near many a steep edge.
There are paths near the rivers which may be drawn for fertile soil and protected from the high waters of our days ahead.
God you create these paths for us to follow so many of them prepared for us to make our way steady and our feet firmly planted in You.
Snowy paths where you plow ahead of us the clearing, rocky paths which you hoe out and smooth the way for us to follow you.
All these paths lead to you because they are prepared by you.
So let us not be afraid to go on the rough roads, the wet ones, the snowy ones......
When we set You before our way and in our lives there is no path that is not made straight
Thank you Jesus!!!
