WORD FOR LIFE: PITY PARTY

WORD FOR LIFE: PITY PARTY: WAITING AT THE WATER FOR A MIRACLE              When I try to get in the water, someone comes before me so I cannot get in"        ...

PITY PARTY

WAITING AT THE WATER FOR A MIRACLE
When I try to get in the water, someone comes before me so I cannot get in"

I can never remember how many times I used this same excuse system:
If only I could get a beak
I never seem to be in the right place at the right time
This country offers me nothing now with all that is going on

So many excuses and all untrue:

Jesus nonetheless walks up to the man which to me, is a real blessing because how could such a thing happen,I wonder?
I mean if I am pathetically laying there for many years feeling sorry for myself and making excuses why I cannot rise to the water, why should the Son of God come to me?
I need a good kick in the butt is what I need.
But Jesus does not think so............
Instead He heals the man and offers him eternal life!!!!!

Now wait a sec........ Should Jesus not have lectured him on how he should not be a lazy slob and make excuses all his life?
Should Jesus not point out to him how God only helps those who help themself?(not biblical yet we use it a lot)
NO, No, NO!!!!! Our Jesus asks him a good question such as,"Buddy, do ya wanna be well?" which leads up to a host of excuses the man has for his being in that state all the long years he was there.  boy if I was there I would have given that man a piece of my mind!!!!
Or wait a sec, my excuses are pretty much the same as his,or so I think they are
I can run off a dozen right now without even thinking bout it
YET THROUGH ALL THIS EXCUSE MAKING LAZY PITIFUL BEHAVIOR JESUS STILL CAME TO THE MAN.
 HE STILL COMES TO US
He is NOT in the business of shaming or blaming but rather RENAMING us in His name!!!!
Jesus saw something in this pathetic man even though there were many others there waiting for a healing too
Yet we are only told of this mans story at this particular place and time
Without thinking about why that is I rather praise God for His mercy and care,His ever lasting protection.
TY Jesus

Ack I should have done that................. How many times have you said or thought that?
Perhaps after leaving a conversation ya think,"Oh I should have said this or that?
That is how it is with our witness to God too.
Have you ever felt compelled to witness to someone and did not?
Or have you ever felt like you should have given a testimony and even have opportunity present itself several times too?
And you still do nothing.
Next time i WILL do better!
Next time next time next time
SOMEONE MUST HAVE SCOTCH TAPED MY MOUTH THAT IS IT!!!
I go to church,study God's word,fellowship and witness
but how does my MOUTH GET STUCK WHEN IT SHOULD BE WIDE OPEN LIKE WHEN I EAT A SUBWAY LOADED SPECIAL?
oK i SERIOUSLY NEED TO LET GO OF MY BRAIN CELLS THAT ARE RUSTY AND REPLACE THEM WITH THE NEW SUPER POWERED HOLY SPIRIT ENLIGHTENED ONES THAT LAST FOREVER!!!!!!!

LEAVING A CHURCH IS NOT GOODBYE

In the past many years since 1996 I have attended faithfully three churches.
Since I am a person who likes to stick to one thing and not flit about here and there I had no idea why God would move me from my first church to my second.
But I found out a few months later when my daughter was saved in the second church and my outreach began there.
I got comfortable in that second church, then, lo and behold,He told me time to go.(was there for many years)
NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not again but I knew it was time.
The third church led me to my second husband and a new understanding of God I had not seen before.
But NOW, NOW,NOW,NOW, when I was so very sure I was to be at this little church for the rest of my days,He said, time to move.
Nooooooooooooooo I resisted. One month, two, then three, till I could no longer bear to even hide it any longer,I had to go.
The thing with God is He always has somewhere for you to be.
I love allllllll my past churches so much,i love allllll my pastors and will always pray for them and love them and their families.
I love all my friends and brothers and sisters in Christ in all my churches.
The move never has anything to do with any of them.
God has a reason. It is one of the hardest things to do especially if you are a stubborn and resistant lady like me. I never wanna move and just am happy to be in one place.
But I know that I know that I know why He moves me.
All the details are not clear yet on this move.
I am in my fourth church now.
I miss my old one and the people but am fast making new friends too.
and I know He has His reasons for this and I will not question Him any longer cause I am getting too old to wonder why or how anymore.
I just want to obey serve and love Him more.
Is this not the weirdest thing ever>?
But you know I left my grandchildren in Canada to come to my third church and wondered if I was out of my mind. Then I met my second husband and knew why God had moved me here. Our life here with my daughter is creating a second chance at redeeming my time in my country, serving Him here too.
Now as I venture with my husband into this fourth church I
wonder what is ahead and cannot wait for the blessings He has in store.
I WILL NOT LOOK BACK WITH SADNESS BUT JOY.
AND WHEN I DO VISIT MY OLD CHURCH IT WILL BE WITH GLADNESS OF HEART AND LOVE FOR ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST.

Taste and See that the Lord is good!

It is rainy and gray in the part of the world I live in today.
Seems like David's spirit was like this weather many times over in God's word.
In psalm 31 he cries out for strength and mercy to endure the many enemies he has around him.
However what fascinates me more is  that he also calls for help in  that he wants to rejoice in God.
I know he says he will choose to rejoice in God but how often do we claim that while shaking inside?
How many times have we gone through a terrible time while still feeling that ray of hope inside us?
Maybe we were angry at God or confused or just wondered why about things yet had this small light in us that kept us from stumbling and falling completely.
Throughout the psalms I get this sense that David expresses all his fears and negative thoughts but always stands on God's promises no matter what.
He may be trembling inside and really wondering if anything makes sense yet he still pens hope in God.
This is like a little child who is afraid of the dark or monsters yet feels safe in a parents arms.
Thank God for His hand on us and His arms around us, even when we think they are not.
Like the child who wakes up at night and calls for his dad or mom to comfort his bad dream or fear, we call out to our God who never really has left the "room"

WHINING BOUT THE SUMMER DAYS?

Today is such a nice day for fall to usher in but is still summer
A bit of coolness in the early morning air hints of an premature fall
However the date of this day(July 30) awakens me to reality: summer is still here, enjoy it.
People near me are even talking of Christmas which brings a bit of joy to me as I contemplate hand made gifts to be done but also reminds me it is far from near and I still have many summer memories to enjoy.
Sometimes I rush seasons a bit but this also carries into my spiritual life. I rush what lies ahead for me in the spirit llife, thinking I must know this or desire to know that.
But God is such a timely teacher His fall is not to come duriing out summers.
When we are ready and able to understand a truth then the next "season" arrives, bringing with it much awaited joy but also much needed rest in Him.
Summer is fun and offers so much beauty, warmth and peace.
So too does our stay in our Lord God's plan for our lives, in His word and truth.
When we are ready for a new season to arrive it comes as naturally as the passage of fall from summer.
and truth be known sometimes I do not miss summer for a long time because the fall is so very beautiful too.

ZOMBIES ARE POWERLESS

How  can someone be rescued by a dead person?

If you think about falling down an elevator shaft or a cliff or whatever falling fantasy you may have how can anyone rescue you if they are no longer in this world, if they are DEAD.

Can a dead person jump out of the grave ton hear your rescue cries and save your life?

Only a LIVING person could save your lfe from that peril you are in. So is the same with our spirits.
ONLY A RISEN LIVING SAVIOR CAN SAVE OUR LIVES FROM ETERNAL FIRE.
HE IS JESUS!! THE ONLY SON OF GOD, WHO ROSE FORM THE DEAD SO WE CAN LIVE!!!!!!

WAITER WANTED

I AM NOT A GOOD WAITER

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord(a song)
wait, wait, wait
wait till next year
wait till tomorrow
but what does it mean to WAIT ON THE LORD?
when you are in a waiting room it means you have to stay there until the doctor/dentist or whatever person has invited you in to see you, it's your turn
when we wait in line at a store, we are doing so for a specific goal: a purchase
we can wait at a concert for tickets
at an amusement park for a ride

and so on
the list could be endless
so it seems we wait a lot
for many reasons
But what does it men to WAIT ON THE LORD?

Are we to stay in some line, or room, or in a restaurant?

Waiting on the Lord, what does that mean?

Does it mean to just pray and be still?
I think waiting on the Lord means we are so happy just to know he loves us and works on our behalf
that we are in a constant state of joy and expectancy
we await to see His goodness everywhere
we await to see His mercy and grace
and it IS everywhere
Once I had to wait many years for an answer to prayer
when it came, and it came beautifully, seems to me God had a better way of answering it than I thought
my wait was one of pleading and hoping and trusting
it was a difficult time, one in which I struggled, yet still maintained that hope and peace from our Father in heaven
Maybe waiting on the Lord is a process then, a lifelong stream of getting to know and trust God
better than a supermarket line
but we can still pray in that line just to have more time with Him

GOD SEES IT

Did you ever wonder why people who do not fear God succeed and seem to "get away with murder"?
David mused over such things in the 10th psalm. He asks God why the wicked prosper when God seems so far off to a man who follows God's law.
But even more perplexing to me is the fact that a man can work, buy a car, buy a home, raise a decent sort of family who all are successful and still not acknowledge God.
Then there is the godly man who suffers persecution and trouble and He honors God.
But with clarity David assures us that God "does see trouble and grief, and He considers to take it in hand" psalm 10:14
So though things may look a bit unbalanced to us, God sees it all.
Maybe it is not for us to so much look at, wonder and why the unjustice in the world as it is to just praise God and continue to obey and trust Him.
Otherwise these things may distract us from a deeper relationship with Him as we are focusing on the evil around us.
I want to look to God, to get to know HIM better and leave the injustice around me to Him.
When my children were little one would whine about the other doing something,"It's not fair.He gets to go to bed later"
But as a parent we know what is best for our children and thus we can feel justified about making rules.
So too does our heavenly Father see and know the ways of His creation, and, especially those He foreknew to be His.
Focusing on God, not on the issues and problems, gives my attention to Him alone and helps me to understand how He deserves the glory and honor, the main focus of my attention
Yes we can call to attention the things that are unjust but we should,I believe, be rather calling out the goodness, sovereignity, and mercy of our God and present Him to the world instead of all the injustices in it.He knows and sees it all.

Blessed is the man who does not WALK in the COUNSEL of the wicked...." psalm 1:1

This does not say that we should do this or that
It does not say that so and so is a sinner
It does not even label any sin
Simply put it states
we are blessed when we do not walk according to what is sin,or,what is wrong

This is not a condemning scripture but rather a blessing and encouragement for us to walk in God's ways and obey Him
How refreshing are these words to my mind, spirit and soul
ty Jesus!!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

How do you discern what s right and good?
According to Paul, who was in prison at the time he wrote this verse, you do it though love(Philippians 1:9).
It is through love, Paul says, that we will grow into a knowledge of depth and insight. Then will we be able to discern what is right.
I have a friend who is choosing a lifestyle I know is against God's word. I love this friend more and more each day but I desire to love him with the love of Christ.
My prayer is that I am able to discern and know God's timing in opening his heart and "eyes" to repentance and how can I show him God's love till that happens? or will it ever happen?
So in love I continue to pray for him, love him,be his friend and care for him as if he was my own child or as I would want to be loved.
In love I hope, when the time comes, that he will be healed delivered and restored to God's will and plan for his life.
I had someone who loved me enough to tough it out with me while I deliberately chose sin but it was her love that won me out in the end.
You see she had so much of Jesus in her heart, His love was the only thing that held her through all her years of loving on me and praying for me.
You can say what you want about sending out demons, deliverance and healing ministries but in the end this all has to come by love,by love, by love. They need to be done and addressed but without love they can mean nothing.
"And this is my prayer, that your love may abound more and more
in knowledge and depth of insight,so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless till the day of Christ."(Phil.1:9)

Looks like Paul saw some serious problems in the Ephesus church. There was perhap= liberty taken with grace and of course, as always, the flesh gets in the way with pride and such. Paul said to offer our lives pure and blameless, without any foolish talk or obscenities. I wonder sometimes when I watch a move or sitcom or series if it is worth the time then.
Some of them use coarse language, make fornication and immoral practices seem acceptable and quite normal.
I know its just entertainment but what does that mean anyway?
Paul also says "whatever s holy, pure,of good report......" think on those things.
You are what you eat...........

So making a deliberate choice of even what I think may be "harmless" entertainment may influence my thinking and behavior.
Time to rethink some thinking and pray on these thoughts
Isn't it far better to have a pleasing aroma to God?

THE BABY IS LEARNING TO WALK
During worship Sunday I had a revelation and it was most interesting.
God told me how to pray for the Living Waters Fellowship Church.
Up till now my heart has been praying for Newton, members of our church and our pastor.
But God said He wants me to love the church, not the building or the entity of it, but instead see it as a whole,as His creation for His glory and purpose.
And he distinctly said:THE BABY IS LEARNING TO WALK.
Love it,nurture it,even hold it in your arms.
So I thought about this and came up with this:
When my babies learned to walk, what was my part?
Firstly it was important to give the baby things to lean on or hold out my hands to them supporting them as they went along.
A happy smile, encouraging word, while holding their hands and seeing their little feet move along, step by step.
Soon their legs strengthened and I was able to stand a foot or two ahead of them, holding out my arms to welcome them but still near enough to catch them if they fell.
Sometimes they fell and often tried to get up on their own.
They walked kind of crooked at first, steadying themselves to gain their balance.
Eventually they took steps, slow at first(except my son who ran!!!)and their steps were firm then, almost stomping ones to show they had gained their confidence.
And that is how I saw our church and how God is asking me to pray for it right now.
I pray that the path will be clear for us to begin to step forward, baby steps at first of course.
i pray that our legs will gain the strength we need to walk farther and firmer.
We will seem crooked at first like the baby's legs often are but if we see Jesus as our parent waiting with open arms to catch us and welcome us,(He is our prize)we will soon be straight. May this church always look to you first Jesus, for you ARE the Head.

We will fall many times but we look to the Lord to pick us up for He is our Father and we co-labor with/for Him in our church.I pray that when we do fall, the tears will be short and the comforter will help us right up and at the task again, even with a smile in our hearts.
I pray that as Jesus does His part to help us stand and walk on our own that we will know He is still also right beside us as every parent is for their child.
These are some of the prayers I am pouring out and thinking on for our church.
Soon the terrible twos will come but for now that is another movie.
Right now our baby is in need of some spiritual lovin' and I am pleased to be able to pray this way for our church.
God is pouring a real love for Living Waters Church in this way, a different kind of love, not the proud kind or loyal kind for we know love encompasses those anyway, but more of a deep love for it to grow and be pure and able to do what God has called it to do.
It is important to remember I am not thinking of the church as a physical entity but kind of a spiritual one.
Rick Joyner has stated that in a vision he had once the true members of the church, those who were totally devoted to the Lord, actually became the pillars(physically) in his vision of the church.
I think that is how I am imagining it a bit because I am not seeing individual people or ministries but instead it is God's arm at work in our midst.
This is exciting and wonderful for me as my prayers previous had only been for Newton and the many who we serve.
It is a new refreshing way to pray for me and I am so happy to be able to spiritually hold our church close to my heart and pray God's mercy and grace over it.
And hey once this baby is walking we can welcome the terrible twos with newly gained wisdom and strength.

PINKY DAYS

Paul says we are all part of the body.
Well I feel like the tip of the pinky today and what does that do?
It senses stuff I suppose and completes the finger.
Most tea parties have ladies sticking out their pinkies so I would hope maybe I can be so blessed as to honor that position........
However somedays I feel like the elbow all bendable and ready to help the arm do its job
And like today some days are just pinky days
I know I have some little purpose but I am so small
Those big muscles and strong arms and legs get to do all the big stuff
Its hard to be a pinky somedays

wisdom for today

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evilwith good" Romans 12:21
Some politician or great speaker of today may say words and words of wisdom but none so great as the words of life as in the scriptures, the bible.
How could we not be overcome by evil?
How could we overcome evil with good?
It is not humanly possible with the words of great leaders or gurus or with the sage of yogis and Buddhas
It is only possible with Jesus, he is the One who said,
"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.  NOONE comes to the Father WITHOUT Me." John 14:6

how do e know for sure??????????????????

Ananais and Sapphira were, I guess, the first known church deceivers. Along comes Simon the sorcerer who attempts to be a televangelist and "buy" the Holy Spirit and I suppose it all starts there.
But where does the madness end and the real walk with God begin?
Indeed the "laying on of hands(acts8:17)" is biblical and we know that the Peter and John asked specifically if they(new believers) had received the Holy Spirit.
So then the believers ACCEPTED the word of God but had not RECEIVED the Holy Spirit.
The bible said: "the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them;they had SIMPLY BEEN BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
many believers receive the Holy Spirit without the laying on of hands.
Is this biblical? Yes I believe so, God can do what He wants and how He chooses.
In this portion of Acts 8 we are not told how the disciples knew the believers received the Holy Spirit once they laid hands on them. Did they become tongue speakers, fall down, or become full of joy and praise?
However we do know that Peter and John"placed their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit"
So today my question would be, why is it we do not do this "laying on of hands" in many of our churches today?
If it were just meant for that time I would ask,"is Jesus Christ not the same yesterday and today and tomorrow? Did the disciples do this just for a few months then stopped? Were the people then only privileged enough to have hands laid on them?
So then why take communion? Maybe it was meant only for the disciples?
Why have church altogether?Maybe it was just meant for the disciples and early believers.
I need some answers God because I do not see a lot of laying on of hands here except n the charismatic churches and sometimes they get a bit much overboard with the speaking in tongues thing which is a totally another issue for me.
Like is that not our "heavenly language"?And do we not need to interpret it in an orderly way in church?
?????????????????????????????????
A lot of the charismatic stuff overwhelms me at times. We are emotional beings and I wonder how much is theatrical, emotional or real worship?
Lately I am preferring to worship simply at home with hubby or friends until I resolve all these things.
i wanna be real before God and know Him and not man.

or if red always looks red
He is the best thinker outside the box of boxes
so why can't he think anything?
yet when he made me he sure went way outside the big box

am sure He colored outside the lines

stephen is stoned

Stephen was stoned to death
but right before he saw Jesus
and the people thought he looked like an angel
so why would they stone an angel?
please don't say oh there are dark angels
because the people were not afraid of his countenance
nor was he just"an angel of light
but there was something obviously godly in his countenance
he stood for his faith for his Jesus
and never had a chance to see how glorious a thing would happen to the one approving of his stoning
saul was in the crowd
and the witnesses clothes were thrown at his feet
which i am sure meant something important
guess paul never forgot this moment
but am sure he is great pals with stephen now

MERCY AND LOVINGKINDNESS
In psalm 107 I noticed the word mercy used in a very different way than I expected.
There was this sentence that said "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His mercy endures forever."
I heard this in songs before but had always known it as His love endures forever.
So then I began to imagine how close love and mercy really are, after all.
The love of God is smack in His mercy and we get it like a dose of happy ever medicine, all because of His love.
In your love remember me, the psalmist says(psalm 25) as He asks God not to remember his sins but to show him God's favor.
love and mercy,mercy andlove
how close the words do meet
with fragrance sweet as morning dew
they kiss God's hands and feet
from outstretched hands to our own hearts
he places always there
a taste of glory with His love
forever in His care.

SOLOMON WAS A SOCIAL NETWORKER

I LIKE SOLOMON!!!!!
He may have ended up a bit whacko but his thoughts are so akin to my own rantings lately.
How many people on social network sites are kvetching about how short life is, how we need to love our friends, stamp out cancer, hate and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Solomon has something to say about all the toil and stress and yanging too...
All vanity!!!!
like air bubbles all these rants and raves just come out , then, perhaps a flutter of activity for a bit and back to the same ball game..
and, like all ball games we come out winner or loser but it is always either that and nothing else
win or lose
all is vanity,so Solly says
in the end he decides, and me too, that we should just enjoy the life God gave us, to make ,each moment count
so too the many blogs on facebook say
enjoy, eat, drink, be good
Solomon was WAY ahead of his time
but his blogs was dedicated to the end result that God made ALL things beautiful in His time
that God has planted eternity in our hearts
and much dreaming and many words are meaningless
stand in awe of God!!!!

WORD FOR LIFE: HE CREATED THEM MAN AND WOMAN

WORD FOR LIFE: HE CREATED THEM MAN AND WOMAN: In this time of changing roles and morals, it is hard to listen to everyone's opinion while reading God's word.  I have read just ...

HE CREATED THEM MAN AND WOMAN

In this time of changing roles and morals, it is hard to listen to everyone's opinion while reading God's word.
I have read just today that God Himself created us MALE and FEMALE.
So that He intended two sexes for His purpose and that should mean something.
If two men or two women want to love each other that is fine.
It is wonderful to see two people love each other.
But why do they have to pretend to be something they are not?
Why does the woman pretend she is a man or plays a "masculine role?"
Why does a man pretend he is a woman and plays a feminine role?
They are mimicking what a real marriage should be.
A man and a woman,in my thoughts.
Or else why would they pretend to be the other?
If so they must be really unhappy inside.
Unhappy people sometimes insist they are not and make you want to accept them, and, think that they are "normal".
They may be forceful and demanding or they may become depressed and even suicidal.
I am not saying this is all true but this is how I am feeling now.
If you feel that you need to only love the same sex then do that but do not pretend to be the other, that is sending a very big signal that you think same sex marriage is right and normal.
Men and women in so called straight" marriages (why they call it that is alone evidence of what is not crooked), are just as sinful as men and women in gay marriages are. We all have sinned in one way or another and need Jesus.
But why do we have to "pretend" to be something God did not create us to be?
We are then telling God He made a mistake........

MAJOR STORM VS. MAJOR STORM CHASER

People are out today buying more and more stuff, more and more more and more more and more
Groceries are moving off shelves, shovels, snow blowers, even generators
Seems like preparations for a storm are the main event this week and people seem desperate to get what they need to "survive"
Wonder what would happen if Jesus said He was coming for a visit?
How would we prep for this coming?
Would you clean your house, wash the dog,buy some food?
All these things are probably not what He wants us to do
ME MEME its all about MY survival,my family,my home,my car
However would He come for a little visit would you really want to wash your car or your floors?
Or perhaps clean up what we know to be needing clean up
and getting ready for His arrival
kind of a different preparation, but a more important one
its for eternity
